[00:00:00] Seth: There are a lot of things worth doing in our lives, but just as important as what we are doing is how we are doing it. You can walk through your life with your shoes on, or you can walk through your life with your shoes off. And one of those options is likely better than the other. The primary question that I explore as it applies to everything in life is how a specific approach or an action or a thought pattern is going to actually benefit us.

So most of the thoughts and ideas in this show stem from things that I've observed in my own life, but a good amount has also come from books that I've read. The topics can be pretty wide ranging with episodes like What would I want to hear if I was a soldier fighting for a lost cause? Or, the heart and the head shouldn't be enemies.

The inspiration for this show all came about at the end of last year, 2023, when I got divorced. My life suddenly became drastically different and I went from having a wife and children to having My kids only half the time. So that being said I had a big gaping hole in my heart and a whole lot more time So I needed something to fill that hole in my heart and to use up some of that extra time I had.

In writing these podcast episodes I'm going to say it different.

And so I started writing essays that eventually turned into this podcast. And it's ended up becoming a kind of therapy for me that I never expected. This is not a podcast intent on sharing my innermost feelings on being a single dad or a divorced man, but rather this is my attempt to try to figure out how to live.

And to put something good into the world along the way. When I started writing these, I didn't really know what I was making. But I knew my intent was to try and provide something that might help someone else. Or at least help them see an old problem in a new light. And one of the things that I've enjoyed the most has been hearing which parts of these episodes have resonated the most with the people that have had a chance to preview the show.

As well as just being able to see who liked it and who didn't. It's also given me so many more opportunities to start having really meaningful conversations with the people around me. So you can expect the episodes to stay relatively short, likely averaging between 10 to 15 minutes, and they'll be coming out weekly.

Writing for this podcast has been an incredible experience for me, and I hope in some small way it benefits you as well.
